Four people were injured in a single-engine plane crash at the Saratoga Wyoming Airport on Monday, September 5, 2011. According to a report in the Casper Star-Tribune, Ronney Bowker was the pilot of a Cessna Turbo aircraft when he attempted a landing in Saratoga en route to Eugene, Oregon. The preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board stated that Mr. Bowker aborted the landing after wind blew the plane left of the runway’s center line. The plane lost power and crashed.

Mr. Bowker’s wife was listed in stable condition at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado. Mr. and Mrs. Thenell were also injured. Mrs. Thenell was being treated in a rehabilitation hospital and Mr. Thenell was listed in serious condition at the Medical Center of the Rockies.
